Best of: This Week’s Street Style

Once again, I’ve compiled my favorite looks from the top street style sites (and a few up & coming sites)  such as Stockholm Street Style, Style Sightings. The Fashionist, Vanessa Jackman, & All The Pretty Birds.
Enjoy!

My favorite look this week, gorgeous rose tones in Milan.

aw5

The perfect textured coat for fall.

aw3leighlezark

Leigh Lezark is starting to bare a resemblance to Anna Wintour…and I like it. The Balmain jacket is to die for.

aw1

More fleshy rose tones, this time: toughened up with combat boots & a leather biker jacket.

aw2

Can’t go wrong with a sleek, all-black ensemble.

aw16

Perfect. Bronze. Rick Owens. Jacket. …I think my heart jumped a little.

The idea of the perfect gold sequin dress is a notion that I just can’t seem to shake.

Fendi 1966

During the late 1950s luxurious furs were the object of many women’s affections. But, due to social changes starting in the early 1960s and stretching onto the 1970s, owning a fur coat was considered old-fashioned, out of style, & bourgeois. Adele Casagrade Fendi called on Karl Lagerfeld to design “A colorful fur coat that was not precious but original”. Lagerfeld experimented with different tanning methods, textures, and materials to take an entirely new spin on the fur coat. This, in 1966, scandalized the fashion world, color introduced itself as a design element. This very collection helped put Fendi on the map as one of the most influential design houses.

Halston

No one did understated glamour like Halston. He truly was one of the greatest American designers of all time. Halston achieved cult status without unnecessary detail & frill, but with a keen eye for simple, long silhouettes and a keen eye for draping.

Chanel Cosmetics Winter 2009

The Chanel Noirs Obsurs collection is filled with rich shades of eggplant, blood-red, & deep gold. These looks are not for the shy nor the demure, but if chosen wisely a pop of deep, vampy color can be smart & chic versus looking over done.

ALEXANDER WANG: New Neutrals

These tan desert tones from Alexander Wang are enough to convert me.
Me… With a wardrobe not consisting of all black? Could it be?
